Bastrop's Annual Patriotic Festival
Held the first Saturday in July
Saturday, July 5th, 2014
The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is inviting the citizens of Bastrop and visitors from throughout
the state to participate in the annual Patriotic Festival. Join us in Fisherman’s Park on July 6, 2013,
beginning at 6 p.m., to pay tribute to our honored traditions of Freedom and Liberty. Can you think of a
better way to end this very special week than with a free Patriotic celebration and fireworks display
along the banks of the Colorado River? The Historic Old Iron Bridge makes a perfect backdrop for the
spectacular fireworks and serves as another reminder of our heritage.
The day’s fun will begin with the Annual Pet and Pal Parade at 10:30 a.m., at the corner of
Pine & Water Streets. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The parade will go north up Main Street, then
right on Spring to the Bastrop Opera House. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade. Music
by the Bastrop Community Chorus and Band will begin the evening festivities at 6 p.m. with people dining,
children playing, and families stretched out on the grass or relaxed in lawn chairs as they await the
Austin Symphonic Band and fireworks.
We would like to thank our generous sponsors. Without them, this festival would not be possible,
so be sure to thank them and show your support.
